Oversee select engineering resources to coordinate the provision of engineering solutions, designs and improvements for DNA commercial operations in Latin America (primarily Peru and Chile)

Work Responsibility:
This position is responsible to lead major engineering projects, including emulsion plant design/construction and site upgrades throughout the DNA business in Latin America. Safely coordinate, delegate and supervise the project team’s completion of all engineering deliverables including scope, full design and drawing package for execution, while remaining on schedule and on budget.

• Act as the technical authority for the process design of all major regional DNA engineering projects.
• Oversee technical deliverables on all Latin American projects to ensure technical quality and customer satisfaction.+
• Organize, prioritize and be flexible with several projects in progress simultaneously with multiple teams.
• Communicate effectively with the with customers, throughout the company both of and down the chain of command
• Manage ambiguity and customer expectations
• Demonstrate ownership and seek accountability within multiple diverse teams to deliver results. Delegate tasks and drive priorities.

• Develop or delegate key engineering deliverables accordance with project requirements.
• Ensure design compliance with applicable external regulatory requirements, company engineering standards and HSE requirements for the manufacture of explosives and hazardous materials.
• Direct third-party engineering design resources to produce deliverables that meet or exceed expectations.
• Direct various contractors and trades in field, providing guidance and answering questions on the fly during construction and start-up
• Support various emulsion sites within the business in solving technical issues and driving compliance to company and regulatory standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

• Minimum 8 years relevant industry experience as engineer (mineral processing/mining, industrial chemical manufacturing plants, oil & gas, etc.).
• Experience in bulk explosives processes preferred.
• Must be fluent in Spanish and English, and a strong communicator in both languages (written and verbal).
• Ability to connect and interact with people at all levels
• Proven track record in detailed process design, drafting specifications, equipment and component selection, and system installation.
• Possesses strong knowledge of and experience in regional codes, standards and laws.
• Demonstrated ability to work to best engineering practices,
• Proven track record of project engineering in all phases (conception, design, execution).
• Hands-on experience relating to plant construction, equipment installation, commissioning and process troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Auto CAD.
• Experience designing, reading and working from P&IDs.
• Ability to motivate and drive teams to maximum performance and positive project outcomes.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, capable of seeing both the big picture and the fine details.
• Working knowledge of process instrumentation and controls.
• Ability to travel typically 30% of the time, with potential for additional travel during critical project phases. Must be capable of international travel
