Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting orthodontists in delivering high-quality treatments. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients.
Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including the placement and adjustment of braces and other orthodontic appliances.
• Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of maintaining their orthodontic appliances.
• Take impressions and utilize 3D scanners for creating models of patients' teeth.
• Maintain accurate medical records and update patient charts in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.
• Collaborate with the dental team to provide support in general dentistry tasks as needed.
• Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow within the office.

Requirements

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry concepts is preferred, as well as experience in prosthodontics.
• Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix is highly desirable.
• Previous experience as an orthodontic assistant or in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
• Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.

Pay: $19.93 - $20.86 per hour
