About the Role
We are seeking a Nurse/Auxiliary Nurse with experience working in an optometry practice to join our team. This role is integral to supporting clinical operations and ensuring patient safety. In addition to assisting with optometric procedures, the candidate will serve as the designated first aider for the facility.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist optometrists with patient evaluations, diagnostic procedures, and visual assessments.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain sterile conditions for procedures.
• Administer medications and eye drops as directed by the optometrist.
• Document patient history, treatments, and observations in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Provide basic education to patients about eye health, medications, and post-procedure care.
• Serve as the designated first aider, responding promptly to medical emergencies and providing appropriate care.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards in the facility.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of first aid practices, optometric procedures, and patient care protocols.
• Support inventory management by tracking and replenishing medical supplies.
• Foster clear and empathetic communication with patients, addressing their concerns with professionalism.

Qualifications:

• Certified Nurse or Auxiliary Nurse with a valid license to practice.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an optometry or related healthcare setting.
• Certification in First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and other patient management systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of optometric procedures and equipment.
• Familiarity with infection control and sterilization protocols.
• Experience in patient education and counseling.

Pay: ₦200,000.00 per month
