Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our small, supportive team in Ward M8 Neurosurgery at Waikato Hospital. This is a temporary position offering a 0.8 FTE contract.
In this role, you will care for patients presenting with a range of conditions including trauma, tumours, cerebral haemorrhages, and spinal conditions. You will be part of a collaborative environment, working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide safe, effective care.

Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service
M8 is a 21 bed inpatient surgical ward with a speciality in neurosurgery. The ward is equipped with a high observcation area, allowing close monitoring of patients.
We work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including medical staff, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals. This integrated approach ensures comprehensive care.

Mōu | About you
You will need:
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate held with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Prior experience in an acute care, surgical setting in a New Zealand tertiary hospital, neurosurgery experience would be advantageous
  • Able to work rostered hours 7days a week, 24 hours.
  • Strong assessment skills- this role relies heavily on keen observation skills
  • Patience and compassion
  • Have excellent verbal ad written communication, and computer literacy skills
  • Have the legal right to work in New Zealand
