We are looking for Marine and Industrial Specialist Fitter and Turners to join our specialist engineering team at Titan Marine Engineering, Hamer St, Auckland City.
We operate across commercial marine and engineering projects both on and off-site, delivering projects to the high standards of our customers.
We are looking for strong interpersonal skills, and a practical, flexible and commonsense approach, along with a desire to work within a small and highly experienced team with enthusiasm and energy.
About the role:
In this role, you will be part of a small team of machinists, who are responsible for a range of activities associated with maintenance, repairs, and installations meeting the ANZCO code of compliance, with a strong focus on quality.
Key responsibilities include:
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 – $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

About the role:
In this role, you will be part of a small team of machinists, who are responsible for a range of activities associated with maintenance, repairs, and installations meeting the ANZCO code of compliance, with a strong focus on quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan, organize and coordinate the designated work areas ensuring work is completed safely as part of your team.
- Oversee the repair quality to warrant all work carried out, as required, to agreed Engineering Standards or Classification requirements
- Assist with Investigations where requested, to determine the cause and recommend remedial actions
- Must be able to work with aluminium, steel and stainless steel
- Work from drawings and blueprints where relevant, otherwise assess the required work to determine suitable material, method and required operations to achieve required specifications
- Set machining, cutting and shaping tools
- Fit, assemble, grind, cut, bore and shape metal parts and subassemblies
- Check fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
- Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
- Comply with all requirements of the Titan Marine Safety, Health & Environmental manuals, and company procedures
- EITHER a Trade Certificate in a relevant engineering/welding discipline AS/NZS ISO 9606.1.2017 OR at least 3 years equivalent experience
- You will preferably have at least a further 2 years’ experience in a marine engineering environment over and above the minimum qualification or work experience
- Driver’s license is preferable to be able to drive work vehicles on-site visits
- A wide range of machining and engineering skills
- Great skills in numeracy, with adherence to health and safety procedures
- Understanding of all ISO requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player that can work to deadlines and show flexibility
- You must be comfortable working in confined spaces and hold or have the ability to obtain confined space tickets
- You must be physically fit enough to climb up onto a ship or boat.
- You must be able to pass a drug test and police/security clearances for work on naval vessels
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 – $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
