Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Kitchen hand, you will be responsible for assisting the Food Services Team Leader to prepare and serve tasty and nutritious means for lunch and dinner. Confidence in the kitchen with meal preparation is important along with the following:

As there will be a requirement to carry out meal preparation, some flexibility regarding daily duties will be expected to meet the needs of the kitchen. Hours are casual on an as required basis. There is a possibility of additional hours at times to cover leave and so flexibility and willingness to help at these times is always appreciated!

  • Ability to drive a manual van
  • Experience working in a kitchen (preferred)
  • Good communication skills and have a person centred approach
  • High standards of personal hygiene and appearance
  • If you hold a food safety/hygiene certificate, that would be great but if you don't have one we can train you in what you need to know
  • Enjoy being able to contribute to the work of your team and how this impacts the experiences of our residents

What’s in it for me?
  • A progressive pay scale starting at $23.25 - $26.35 based on skills and experience.
  • As a learning organisation, you will be provided with full training and support in your role, so you orientate quickly and feel well equipped in your role.
  • Gain qualifications while you work, so you can develop your skills and career
  • Benefit from our staff well-being calendar - regular events and programmes to promote wellness for all of us
  • Being part of a values-based organisation means we care for each other; we care about what we do and how we do it
