Clinical Lead - Resident Doctors Support Services

Join our Resident Doctors Support Service (RDSS) team where you will have the opportunity to make a difference to the future medical workforce of Health NZ – our RMOs.
Our team is working to achieve the vision for our RMOs – “to support the efficient delivery of a well, well trained medical workforce for today and into the future”. Our small national team is supported with a strong network of local RMO units who deliver support services to the RMOs in our health system.
About the Role
The Clinical Lead for Resident Doctors Support Service (RDSS) will provide clinical leadership, oversight and professional advice on delivery of the RDSS work programme to support the achievement of the vision for Resident Doctors' (RMOs) support – “to support the efficient delivery of a well, well trained medical workforce for today and into the future”.
This role will work in partnership with the CMO holding the RDSS portfolio, along with national, regional, and district leaders who support Resident Doctors to take a system approach to supporting RMOs training, education and employment journey.
The Clinical Lead will work in partnership with RMOs as a primary stakeholder.
This role will involve collaboration with multiple secondary stakeholders to foster a supportive, healthy work environment that prioritises the wellbeing and professional development of RMOs.
Skills & Experience
- A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification.
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
- SMO with experience of education and/or clinical leadership
- Demonstrates willingness, and ability, to build constructive/effective relationships with stakeholders to build a sound understanding of their operational environment and context.
- Experience working in the clinical training, education and employment space with RMOs i.e. Prevocational Educational Supervisor, Director of Clinical Training etc.
- Demonstrated quality improvement and system improvement experience
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
