Join a leading civil contractor with a strong presence across the South Island as their Civil Site Supervisor / Foreman based in Christchurch.

This business has a strong track record of internal promotions of Supervisors/ Foreman to Project Managers and beyond. With an already strong team of about 200 people in place across the South Island, this civil contractor is ready to continue building on this and keep growing.
The role will cover:

• Large scale earthworks
• 3 waters and drainage
• Subdivision construction

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and motivate your team onsite including subcontractors.
• Oversee daily site operations, including earthworks, drainage, and construction tasks.
• Ensure all activities adhere to safety protocols and quality standards.
• Coordinate resources and ensure the efficient use of materials, equipment, and labour.
• Monitor progress and address any on-site challenges.
• Maintain clear communication with the Contracts Manager, project stakeholders, and team members.

About You:

• Proven experience in a Foreman or supervisory role in civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, and civil works.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
• A strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Competency in operating heavy machinery such as graders, diggers, excavators, etc.
