Health New Zealand Waitemata District serves the communities of Rodney, North Shore and Waitakere. With a population of over 630,000 people, we are the largest New Zealand district by population. We provide secondary hospital and community services from North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals and 30 community sites throughout the district, and employ more than 6800 people.
Our Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine is looking for an Anaesthetic Technician (AT) Educator to join their team. This is a key leadership position working across all Health New Zealand Waitemata District sites, with primary responsibility for developing and delivering transdisciplinary best practice education and training programmes for qualified and student Anaesthetic Technicians.
Working in collaboration with the Charge Anaesthetic Technician Manager, Anaesthetists, AT Team Leaders, Allied Health and Nursing Leadership, and Tertiary Institutions delivering the Perioperative Practice Qualification, the AT Educator role has a strong clinical focus, providing leadership and directed to ATs in relation to professional practice.
Our ideal applicant will:
  • Be a registered Anaesthetic Technician in New Zealand with a current annual practicing certificate
  • Have at least 6 years of post-registration clinical experience
  • Have previous experience in leadership and clinical education
A qualification in Adult Education would be advantageous.
