DEIMOS is selecting a engineer to be integrated in the Systems division of the GNSS Business Unit.
The selected engineer will provide support to the Galileo Second Generation (G2G) at system level, collocated at ESTEC (the Netherlands), providing direct on-site support to the customer the European Space Agency ESA.

He/she will work in an integrated team of engineers from Deimos and from customer/agency.
The collocation would start in January 2025 and finish in April 2028, with the possibility to continue as DEIMOS staff.

Main Duties:

The following responsibilities are envisioned

• Support to System Engineering activities:
• Contribution to System requirements analysis
• Contribution to maintenance/update of RAMS analysis performed in the frame of G2G tasks
• Contribution to document generation/update as result of engineering activities
• Participation/Involvement in relevant project reviews at system (or lower) levels
• Reporting to the project manager, GNSS business unit and designated mission assurance leads

Education:

Required :
A recognized engineering degree (Computer Sciences, Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications) or a related degree (e.g. Aerospace, Physics, Mathematics) with demonstrable experience in GNSS and Space/Satellite systems.
Desired :

• Postgraduate studies (MSc or Ph D) with focus on Mission, Systems, HW, Devices (including IP cores) and/or SW Engineering
• Specialization courses/seminars related to the post

Professional Experience:

Required :
Engineer up to 3-years experience in the practical application of the domains relevant to the post
The position will be tailored to the level of experience. Additional industrial experience would be viewed very positively

Technical Requirements:

Required : The following capabilities are required for the post:

• Consolidated technical background in several of the following areas: RAMS, Verification and Validation, Mission Assurance, System/HW/SW engineering, Engineering Quality (EQ), PA & Safety engineering, Quality Assurance
• Knowledge of RAMS tools (Reliasoft, Isograph, etc) and related methodologies
• Reports and Project documentation generation in English

Desired : Experience in any of the following would be viewed very positively:

• Experience in GNSS Systems, in particular, Galileo.
• Experience in complex and/or safety critical systems
• Experience in Requirements Management tools and related processes
• Knowledge of Systems/HW/Software development standards and specifications for Space, Aerospace and/or Defence (GSWS, ECSS E/Q series, DO178, DO254, etc.)
• Configuration control and programming skills (Scripting, C, C++, Python, etc.) and knowledge of software configuration control tools (GIT, SVN).

Language Skills:

Fluent English, written and spoken
