Purpose of this position is to deliver a multi-skilled, PLC, IT and Software controls equipment service across a wide range of operationally critical equipment whilst both understanding and operating safely in-line with the customer’s business needs.

Yo will operate as technical support for the customers sites, primarily in the Netherlands with occasional travel to the Fairburn site in Atlanta, Georgia and in all cases report into the Site Maintenance Manager.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Main Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot complex systems issues and recommend ideals on productivity improvement, cost reduction and improve customer satisfaction
• Perform complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design
• Coordinate all controls and engineering input necessary to troubleshoot and maintain a high level of system uptime
• Maintain a complete set of project engineering records on all assignments
• Manage lifecycle of client issues by creating, responding, troubleshooting, communicating, and resolving product related Incidents and Problems
• Install, configure, optimize and maintain OS, software and databases
• Designs and contributes to SOPs, tools and knowledge base articles
• Troubleshoot java code, identify bugs, and prepare patches and hot fixes
• Strong problem/resolution solving skills Demonstrating an analytical mindset

• PLC backup, version control and change management

• Maintaining the technical tooling requirements including software, hardware, comm’s modules / leads and alternative interface equipment
• Excellent Record-keeping, file updates, process management
• Support the control of obsolescence on site
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards to the site e.g. EN258
• Maintain compliance to key CE Directives and standards ensuring all are channelled through the correct business department
• Ensure the quality of output in line with relevant industry, company and legislative standards
• Ensure all company documentation is completed
• Ensure full utilization of DMMS and record all reactive and proactive tasks undertaken

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience working with the application of material handling solutions, automated systems
• Broad knowledge of controls and software automation
• Basic understanding of organization's business practices and issues
• Very good understanding of Microsoft Office applications
• J2EE foundation
• Unix/Linux system administration and scripting (preferred)
• Networking
• MS Windows Server (2003, 2008 or 2012) administration (preferred)
• Tomcat Web Servers (preferred)
• Electrical controls system experience including inverter drives, barcode scanning equipment, Profibus / Profinet / ASi-bus / ASi-Safe / Ethernet etc.
• PLC Siemens S7 & Allen Bradley experience required
• IT experience – PC’s/Database/Networks
• Warehouse Control System / Warehouse Management System knowledge including the ability to follow log-file sequencing (preferred)
• Previous experience within a controls equipment environment in warehousing preferred
• Coach and mentor all staff to embrace Dematic and relevant design/industry standards
• 1-4 years Java development experience (or education)
• Proven experience meeting deadlines
• Demonstration of previous independent project work
• 1-4 years of SQL database experience (or education
• Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
• Willingness to travel 10 - 20%
