The RTM NL Documentations team is a team of (legal) experts responsible for the local Corporate Bank’s legal documentation management (in line with DB’s Legal Policy), including Cash, Trade Finance & Lending. One of the key drivers for the NL RTM Documentations team is – next to support NL Legal managing legal risks within the by NL Legal given mandate – to simplify and align documentation including their underlying processes and challenges. Aiming at better client experience, smoother processes, and strategic documentation approach, the team supports and work together with RTM LDCC (Legal Documentation Center of Competence), RTM Implementations, RTM services teams, TF & ABF structuring teams, CMC Sales, Coverage, Product Managers, Legal and Deutsche Bank clients. This includes :
- Maintaining, developing, and improving the Corporate Bank NL’s legal framework in consultation with NL Legal
- Bespoke contract drafting and negotiations with DB Clients as mandated by NL Legal.
- Coordinate advice on local legal matters concerning Corporate Banking NL’s products and legal queries from internal stakeholders with both internal and external (legal) counterparts.
- Focus on efficient and digital End-to-End handling and usage of legal tech to ensure smooth documentation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Providing (legal) support to the Corporate Bank’s NL teams by coordinating and managing local jurisdictional projects in consultation with NL Legal.
- Drafting and negotiating documentation regarding services provided by DB Corporate Bank NL with our corporate clients as mandated by Legal.
- Updating Corporate Bank NL’s contract templates in consultation with Legal.
- Advising on management of regulatory issues.
- Working closely with NL Legal and RTM LDCC.
- Working in collaboration with other internal control functions such as AFC, Compliance and Credit Risk Management.
- Drive/support the development of new electronic/digital solutions with respect to contract management with various stakeholders, challenging established processes with the aim to refine those or (where appropriate) slim them down.
- Set the ambitious team goals based on the overall Corporate Bank & RTM annual goals & KPI’s and is accountable for the performance and results of the teams.
- Ensure regular engagement with the business heads of each Corporate Bank product, clients and infrastructure & control functions in the Netherlands
- Lead the changes in the new set up of RTM in order to further develop the teams with respect to (cross-product) knowledge (content & processes) and a client centric approach.
- Monitors and reports regularly on the team KPIs to steer the team and to report to stakeholders on performance & risks
- Acts as a role model and ensure the teams follow on the Values & Beliefs in terms of Client Focus; Innovation, Discipline and Teamwork
- Contributes to the TF and RTM Academy plan to ensure ongoing training & coaching of all team members

Skills, knowledge, working experience:
- Qualified senior legal experience with at least several years of experience in contract negotiations and version management, either in private practice and/or at a leading financial institution
- Experience in managing both internal and external business relationships.
- Good understanding of Corporate Bank’s products, services and documentation and of applicable law, regulation, and industry standards relevant to the business
- Focus on operating as an effective legal risk manager with ability to consider legal and regulatory risk alongside reputational and commercial considerations
- Strong analytical, written and oral communication and relationship-building skills Experience of working in an international environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, which is required for both inside the organization’s stakeholders, as well as outside the organization’s clients, industry bodies, regulators, etc
- Strong and independent negotiation skills
- Experience in Change Management, and strong affinity with innovation & digitization of Corporate Bank/treasury flow products & services
- Fluent in both Dutch and English
Education level:
- Highest level of schooling, specific training requirements, certification, etc.
- Bachelor and/or Master degree preferably in the field of Dutch Law.
- 10+ years relevant experience within the financial sector
