Faculty and Program
The Faculty of Arts is built on a long-standing tradition of four centuries. Our mission is to be a top-ranking faculty with both an excellent education and world-quality research, with a strong international orientation, firmly rooted in the North of the Netherlands. We build and share knowledge benefits to society. We work at a modern, broad and international institution, educating over 5.000 Dutch and international students to become forward-looking, articulate and independent academics. Students of the BA European Languages and Cultures (ELC) choose a main profile (Language and Society, Culture and Literature, Politics and Society) in combination with one of eight languages. In addition to German, these include NT2, English, French, Italian, Russian, Spanish and Swedish. The language programs build on the expertise of a motivated international team of language teachers, which ensures that language learning is fully integrated with learning about the target language and culture. At ELC, we use effective research-based teaching methods and the latest technological innovations to support language learning and raise the profile of our students as future language ambassadors and cultural mediators for Europe.

You will prepare, oversee, organize and teach German language courses following the method developed by the Language Learning Team of the ELC as described in our mission statement.
