Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:

  • Full Time ( 40 hours per week).

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (two months) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

Working in the Regional Security Office (RSO), the Foreign Service National Investigator (FSNI) conducts security investigations and maintains liaison with local police and other security and law enforcement officials. the FSNI assists the RSO team in coordinating protection for post personnel and visiting U.S. government officials, obtaining and reporting on information concerning potential security threats to post personnel, facilities, or information.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, military, private security, or investigation is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:


  • Good working knowledge of the local and regional judicial system including criminal laws and procedures, and laws regarding marriage, divorce, adoption and military service.

  • Detailed knowledge of investigative techniques and security databases.

  • A valid driver's license is required
Education Requirements:


  • A minimum of two (2) years University Studies is required.

LANGUAGE:

  • English : (Good working knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. (The English Proficiency will be tested)


  • French: (Fluency) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. (This may be tested).

  • Arabic (Darija) : (Fluency) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.



SKILLS AND ABILITIES :


Strong interpersonal skills to work with a team of investigators and other consular staff is required.


Must have interviewing skills that engender trust and the ability to extract information from different sources.


Must have strong quantitative skills and expertise with Microsoft Office products.


Must have strong communication skills.


Must have the ability to extensively use the internet as a research tool.


Must be able to analyze evidence and individual circumstances to present facts and findings.


Must exhibit professional integrity in protecting records and sensitive information.

Agency Benefits:
Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Morocco may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service. Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.

** This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
