Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis reports.

Accounts Management:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts and bank statements.

Taxation and Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.

Internal Controls:
- Develop and implement internal controls to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
- Identify and mitigate risks in financial processes.

Team Collaboration:
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations.

Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) are an advantage.

Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- Familiarity with Malaysian financial regulations and taxation policies.

Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero Accounting, Info Tech Software, Dext).
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other financial tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Language:
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Chinese would be an advantage
