Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Cost Estimator / Cost Estimator at MMC Oil and Gas Engineering in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role involves day-to-day tasks such as cost estimation, budget preparation, cost control, and collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate project cost forecasts and financial tracking.
Job Overview:

• Prepare detailed EPCIC / EPCC cost estimates based on project scope, historical data, and current market conditions for different stages of a project (e.g., Conceptual, Basic Engineering, FEED and Detail Design).
• Conduct market research to gather current pricing trends for materials, labor, and equipment in the oil and gas industry.
• Collect and analyze historical data from previous projects to ensure estimates are accurate and realistic.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to provide accurate cost assessments and help guide decision-making processes.
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, explaining cost structures and justifications for estimates.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation outlining cost estimates, budgets, and variance analysis.
• Track and report on actual costs versus estimates throughout the project's lifecycle.
• Maintain organized records of all cost estimation data, including vendor quotes, material prices, and change orders.

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Certification in Cost Estimating (e.g., AACE International Certified Cost Professional (CCP), or similar credentials) are advantages.
• Minimum 7-10 years / 3-5 years of experience in cost estimation within the oil and gas industry, preferably with experience in engineering company.
• Familiarity with large-scale, complex engineering projects such as offshore platforms, pipelines, refineries, and petrochemical facilities.
• Deep understanding of the oil and gas industry, including materials, construction methods, labor markets, and supply chain dynamics.
• Knowledge of regulations and standards in the oil and gas sector that may impact project costs (e.g. environmental laws, health and safety regulations).
