Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tour Guide to join our team for visiting cruise ships to the following Ports: Portrush, Derry, Greencastle (Co. Donegal) Killybegs Co. Donegal, Galway Foynes, Dingle and Bantry. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sharing local history, culture, and attractions with visitors. As a Tour Guide, you will lead groups on engaging tours, ensuring an informative and enjoyable experience for all participants. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly disposition, and the ability to adapt to various group dynamics.
Responsibilities

Conduct guided tours of local attractions, ensuring accurate and engaging information is shared with participants.
Prepare and deliver informative commentary on the history, culture, and significance of sites visited.
Manage group dynamics effectively, ensuring all participants feel included and engaged throughout the tour.
Answer questions from guests in a knowledgeable and approachable manner.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all tour participants during excursions.
Collaborate with management to develop new tour routes and enhance existing offerings.
Maintain equipment and materials used during tours, ensuring they are in good condition.
Gather feedback from participants to improve future tours.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Tour Guide or in a customer-facing role is preferred but not essential.
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
A passion for history, culture, or the specific subject matter of the tours offered.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
A friendly and approachable personality that fosters positive interactions with guests.
Knowledge of local landmarks and attractions essential.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: €25.00-€30.00 per hour
