Software Engineer - Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift

The Red Hat Open Stack engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Waterford, Ireland.
In this role, you will collaborate with upstream communities and lead the build-out and continuous improvement of the continuous integration (CI) process for the Red Hat Open Stack Platform deployment project. You'll contribute to feature test coverage, tooling frameworks, production chain tools, issue troubleshooting, and resolution of Red Hat Open Stack Platform services.

As a Software Engineer, you will participate as a member of a geographically distributed team, using multiple communication tools for close collaboration. You'll need to have passion for modern open source development methods, an interest in Testing methodologies, and a desire to apply broad software engineering skills to automation. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.

What you will do:

Become a contributing member of the open source community to develop CI framework tools like Red Hat Open Stack Platform’s Zuul, Jenkins, Git Hub, and Git Lab CI
Contribute to the delivery of Red Hat Open Stack Platform release cadence
Participate in upstream and internal continuous integration and continuous delivery (CD)
Work with the Red Hat Open Stack Platform deployment and upstream CI teams to improve automation coverage
Proactively define and implement automated test tooling
Maintain and troubleshoot issues in the Red Hat Open Stack Platform production chain pipeline

What you will bring:

Proven Linux development experience
CI pipeline experience using Open Shift or Kubernetes
Passion for open source software development
Deep understanding of cloud computing and configuration management; Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is a must
Focus on test-driven development (TDD) and good knowledge of unit testing frameworks and methodologies
Experience developing in Python and shell scripting
Familiarity with CI and CD
Ability to work in a distributed team environment
Experience using, developing, or administering Red Hat Open Stack Platform environments, including the knowledge of Red Hat Open Stack Platform and Zuul is a big plus
