Quantity Surveyor

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This role involves cost estimation, contract administration, and project financial management, supporting the Chief Quantity Surveyor and project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including material, labour, and overhead costs. Ensure budgets are set and monitored throughout the project lifecycle.
- Carry out value engineering appraisals as required whilst coordinating with the Design Team, in conjunction with the Contracts Manager/ Project Manager.
- Assist in preparing tender documents, analysing contractor and subcontractor bids, and recommending contract awards.
- Offering guidance on tendering processes and preparing instructions for tenderers.
- Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and specifications.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and manage risks related to cost overruns or project delays.
- Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget forecasts accordingly.
- Validating contractors' final account.
- Work closely with the Chief Quantity Surveyor, project managers, and site teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to address any financial queries or concerns.
- 3rd Level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a QS.
- Strong understanding of building detail and construction technology
- Working Knowledge of ISO standards and the ISO certification process.
- Knowledge of Environmental and Health & Safety systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.
