Financial Analyst/Accounts Assistant

The company is currently looking for an accounts assistant to join our team.
The successful candidate must have accounts experience and a solid grasp of Microsoft Excel. Key skills include problem solving, critical analysis, and time management.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Finance Duties
- Manage accounts payable: raising purchase orders, posting invoices to relevant ledgers, ensuring correct cost centres and VAT codes are used, reconciling accounts, and handling invoice queries.
- Oversee accounts receivable and credit control: reconciling statements, issuing pro forma invoices, and ensuring timely payments.
- Handle banking tasks: process payments, reconcile all accounts, and ensure accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with VAT and PAYE requirements: prepare, submit, and reconcile returns with ROS (Revenue Online Service).
- Maintain relationships with suppliers: liaise by phone or email and administer account-related tasks.
- Contribute to the monthly performance reporting process by preparing accurate management accounts.
- Analyse financial data to create rolling forecasts, budgets, and cash flow projections.
- Perform variance analysis on financial performance against budgets, providing insightful commentary and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain automated reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Extract and present key financial data in concise, actionable formats for management decision-making.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to identify and implement financial process improvements.
- Work on the design and continuous enhancement of monthly reporting systems.
- Assist with audit preparation, ensuring detailed and accurate responses to auditor queries.
- Provide strategic and operational advice by interpreting financial performance and trends.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and insights to support business planning and decision-making.
- Participate in the Annual Estimates, Budgeting, and Service Planning process.
- Assist team members as needed to balance workloads.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and provide financial advice as required.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the General Manager.
