Cafe Chef
We are looking for a team member with a keen interest in producing food consistently to a high standard using local produce in a Speciality coffee cafe just off Eyre Square with a healthy All Day Brunch menu . Prep will be done inhouse for house soda bread, salads with dressing's , pesto's , hummus , pickles & ketchup and hot sauces . The menu is based on a lighter touch with the emphasis on quality . Full training will be provided .
This role will appeal to the applicant who wants a good work life balance because of terms on offer , daytime hours .Pay and Terms will be discussed at interview stage . Set out below is a general overview of the the roles expected in the position. Full training will be provided on ordering, HACCP , kitchen cleaning and setup. This position's start date is immediately with full training period .
Food prep, Stock ordering, HACCP, stock rotation, kitchen sanitation and general maintenance of kitchen are all included within this role.

Experience:

• HACCP: 1 year (Preferred)
• Chef: Similar style restaurant, professional chef: 2 years (Preferred)

Job Duties:

• Report to to owner and Sous Chef and carry out tasks as required
• Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards
• Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment
• Restock items as needed throughout the shift
• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and personal hygiene and wearing correct clothing for working in a kitchen environment
• Assisting the owner to meet all targets: GP, wastage, staff costs
• Maintaining a positive attitude and atmosphere to fellow staff members and customers
• Maintaining a high level and a set standard of quality in all items/units produced for the Cafe
• Follow all Health and Safety procedures set out by the Cafe.
• Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards
• Have full availability for the roster;
• Thrive in a busy and fast paced environment.
