What you`ll do:
Are you ready for your next career step within SAP? We offer you the opportunity to join the ERP CD Performance & Observability team as Senior Dev Ops Engineer.

• You will work for the Argus monitoring project utilizing a distributed Grafana setup running on Kubernetes using various source databases (Victoria Metrics, Postgre, Loki)
• Tasks include dashboard creation, Argus reporting database architecture and set-up, health check creation, automation
• You support the extension of our monitoring, reporting & alerting framework by development in script languages.

What you bring:

• Bachelor / Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Information Technology
• Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker is a must
• Experience with open source Observability technologies like Prometheus, Elastic, Grafana or Kibana is a plus
• Good knowledge of SAP Converged Cloud (Openstack) and public cloud providers (GCP, Azure, aws)
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, Drone CI or Argo CD) as well as knowledge of Git or SVN
• Knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language such as Bash, Python, Go or similar
• Fundamental knowledge in Linux administration, e.g. command line/shell and basic networking

such as TCP/IP, subnets/VPC, security groups/ACLs, etc.

• Good knowledge in relational databases, SQL programming language, database administration is a plus
• Problem solving skills, self-motivation and ability to work in cross-functional teams
• Motivated to work in an international and fast paced environment.
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• 3+ years of professional experience in Cloud Delivery related fields and technologies

With a continuously growing customer base, we focus on automation, reliability (availability & performance), operational excellence and continuous improvement to ensure we operate efficiently at a large scale, always keeping our customers up to date and providing seamless access to the latest product & service innovation by deploying regular product updates & upgrades.


We contribute to strategic initiatives and are centrally involved in defining the solution architecture for S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition with a focus on broader product architecture, integration across SAP’s product portfolio, and product bundling while ensuring we comply with Cloud Qualities and can deliver all solutions at same quality and scale.


The Performance & Observability team drives and supports the development of the future harmonized Saa S Cloud Delivery observability tools and processes across SAP to leverage full optimization potential in close collaboration with all SAP Saa S Lo B’s.


We continuously review and optimize the S/4HANA Cloud Public performance and availability end-to-end. To achieve this, we develop automated Root Cause Analysis, advanced alerting and visual pattern detection. Our team provides expert performance monitoring and optimization as well as complex RCAs around performance and stability.
