Full-Stack Software Engineer

Technology is at the centre of BP’s Group Strategy. We use our data and technology expertise, to improve efficiency, increase effectiveness and harness the transformational potential of digital technologies and new business models.

In this role You will:

Design sophisticated backend components, services, platforms, and Restful APIs for seamless communication with the front end
Design front-end components and seamless integration with the back-end systems, facilitating smooth data exchange
Continuously review the services and components and seek opportunities for improvements
Identify and address Tech Debt
Influencing and delivering the product roadmap to improve our Key Performance Indicators and deliver tangible business value
Develop the team’s Software Engineering skills
Own the team’s culture and ways of working, instilling a care for high quality code and tests and for implementing best practices
Carry out development in React and C#
Work closely with key business users and stakeholders as well as work directly with the Tech Lead on the evolution of the current technology platform and the long-term strategy and roadmap
Create substantial value for the business and requires an individual with the right mix of software engineering and communication skills

What You will need to be successful:

Extensive experience in IT industry with experience in designing, planning, implementing, maintaining, and documenting solutions
Proficient in Software Engineering development techniques and standard methodologies like TDD, BDD
Strong Software Engineering Design capabilities and understanding of Computational Complexity
Desire for excellence and continuous improvement in software architecture, software delivery and best practices
Hands on experience in C# (.Net Core), React eco-system, Type Script and Javascript
Database design and knowledge of SQL Server
Operational experience of running business critical systems is good to have
Experience with Dev Ops: working with AWS, Azure Dev Ops, Openshift/Kubernetes is an advantage
