Duties

The appointee is expected to lead the College Office in supporting the Dean and Associate Deans on matters related to teaching, research, student activities, outreach and internationalisation, etc. in the College of Biomedicine in alignment with the strategic directions of the College and the University. Major responsibilities include:

Lead the College Office to ensure its efficient and effective operation with quality service provided to all stakeholders;

Provide executive assistance to the Dean in planning and management of budget, space and manpower;

Oversee academic faculty appointment and related matters, personnel and promotion reviews and performance-based pay review in the College;

Serve as Secretary to College Board, College Executive Committee, College Staffing Committee, College Performance Assessment Committee, and other Task Forces/Working Groups;

Devise promotion and brand-building strategies for the College and support the Dean/Associate Deans in outreach activities;

Plan and coordinate new projects and initiatives in the College; and

Supervise administrative and technical staff in the Office and provide continuous training and review of performance.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 12 years’ solid relevant experience in university administration and a proven track record of competence. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); a strategic mindset with strong analytical, organisational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities; as well as outstanding communication skills are required.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
