Project Manager

The position
BACKGROUND
The Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) is an Egyptian non-profit organization established in 1991 under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Solidarity. OHF is the implementation agency for the Aga Khan Foundation Egypt and is an affiliate of the Aga Khan Development Network of organizations and was founded by Om Habibeh Mohamed Shah Aga Khan to contribute to and support local communities in the governorate of Aswan in areas including health care, education, and providing income for deprived communities through long-term development activities. OHF works in the following areas: Continuing Education, Civil Society, Agriculture and Food Security, Economic Inclusion, Women Empowerment and Early Childhood Development.
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall project, coordination, and performance and will consolidate the narrative and financial reports of the project. The incumbent will also provide leadership and strategic direction for the project and will support coordination with district officials.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Ensure that project is meeting its overall objectives and main outcomes.
Ensure efficient management of the grant, timely preparation, and submission of narrative and financial reports to donors.
Prepare annual operating plan and budget for the project.
Closely track the technical and financial targets in accordance with the approved log frame and budget.
Select partner CSOs based on set criteria.
Assess CSOs capacity and organisational performance and draft institutional strengthening plan.
Identify and facilitate philanthropic initiatives to serve the need of the disadvantaged groups.
Build leadership skills of CSOs board members and Local Authorities.
Develop a participatory list of self-defined community needs including and challenges, including gender and disability specific challenges.
Raise awareness.
Ensure inclusions of persons with disabilities in the income generating projects.
Establish strong relations with stakeholders to ensure community needs are met.
The requirements
REQUIRED QULAIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Master’s degree in development or related science field.
EXPERIENCE:
Fifteen years of experience in project planning, grant management, and implementing similar projects.
Experience in working with donor agencies, especially the European Union.
Proven experience in entrepreneurial and startup environments, as well as expertise in developing business models.
Experience in working with people with disabilities.
Experience in gender issues.
Strong knowledge of trends, policy issues and technical matters related to youth, skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship.
Strong experience in working with CSOs.
Strong knowledge of development context in Aswan.
COMPETENCIES:
Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent English and Arabic language skills: oral and written.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Coaching and capacity building/development.
Has strong analytical and critical skills.
Dynamic, sociable, and initiative.
Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks, demands and deadlines with a positive attitude.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Hybrid work that is a blend of in-office and field visits.
