Senior Legal Counsel - Brighton or Copenhagen

IO Interactive is seeking a talented individual to join our Legal Counsel team in Brighton or Copenhagen. Currently, we are working on two exciting game projects: Project 007, a brand-new James Bond video game featuring an entirely original Bond story, and Project Fantasy, an ambitious new IP for console and PC that will revolutionize the online fantasy RPG genre.
As we continue to develop these projects, we require a Legal Counsel to support our teams across all studios, ensuring that our development processes run smoothly and efficiently. As we continue to develop these projects, we require a Legal Counsel to support our teams across all studios, ensuring that our development processes run smoothly and efficiently. What you will do:
- Lead the drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex transactional agreements, including contracts for strategic partnerships, intellectual property, licensing, merchandise, music, and multimedia productions.
- Provide expert legal counsel to business leaders, engineers, and creative teams on complex matters such as intellectual property, data privacy, online safety, content moderation, marketing compliance, game development, and publishing.

Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks while proposing innovative, business-oriented solutions to achieve project objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external legal specialists to address emerging regulatory challenges and ensure compliance across global markets.
- Take ownership of cross-functional legal initiatives, contributing to strategic decision-making and ensuring smooth project execution.
Who you are:
- Mandatory Education: You hold a legal qualification (e.g., Master of Laws or LL.M.) from Denmark or the United Kingdom.
- Experience: A minimum of 4-5 years of post-qualification experience in commercial or business law, ideally in technology, entertainment, or media.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to offer strategic, creative solutions that balance legal risks and business priorities.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to establish trusted partnerships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
