Set the direction
We are looking for a Senior Global Portfolio Strategy Manager, who wants to be a part of that growth journey by playing a crucial role in defining our strategic direction and shaping a portfolio of new innovations and solutions. You will be taking a leading position in defining our overall Portfolio Strategy, while also driving strategic projects to assessing different portfolio options and assessing their attractiveness.
You will be a part of our established Global Portfolio Strategy team, which is responsible for the developing a cohesive portfolio strategy across our various business areas and ensure that we think holistically about our offered solutions and have the customer in the center of our thinking. Furthermore, the team is responsible for developing our understanding of the market dynamics and the customers and ensuring that we work in a transparent and aligned way when working on developing our pipeline.
Global Portfolio Strategy is a part of the broader Global Marketing, and you will be in close collaboration with stakeholders both in HQ and our Sales Territories. In this role, you will serve as the strategic anchor and be a strong counsellor to the broader organization on how we want to work strategically and data-driven with our portfolio and business opportunities more broadly. You will join an international team with highly dedicated colleagues. The position as Senior Global Portfolio Manager is based at Ambu’s headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark. Some traveling should be expected as a part of the job.
Position with a huge impact
We are looking for a Senior Global Portfolio Manager to be a key partner on our journey to be more strategic and directional in our portfolio choices. The role is paramount in defining the potential future of Ambu by understanding our market, various business areas and ideate on ways to improve our portfolio by developing solutions that meet true customer needs. You will work closely with our Product Management teams and Global Portfolio Strategy teams, to ensure that we develop full solutions that makes a difference to our customers.
As a Senior Global Portfolio Strategy Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Drive activities to ensure that we have a holistic portfolio strategy with a balanced approach to short-term value creation and long-term growth, as well as a view on our different business areas.
- Lead initiatives to define and sharpen our portfolio strategy, as well as drive and own projects to deep dive on specific areas and opportunities, while collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Be a force behind an improved understanding of the market, customers and users and ensure that we leverage these insights in our decision-making.
- Become a strong business partner to the global organization on how to work with customer insights and data to assess the attractiveness of different avenues and working with scenarios.
- Take part in shaping the team and improve the ways of working across Ambu, so we as an organization elevates our ability to work strategically with our portfolio.
Key competences
To succeed in this position, you need to have a strategic mindset combined with a commercial understanding. You probably hold a degree in healthcare, business, or engineering on a master’s level.
You have experience with strategy development either from an internal strategy role or a consultancy, which enables you to approach project or problem from an analytical and structured approach. You have experience with understanding and segmenting a market, assessing opportunities and drive towards decisions. As a person you are motivated by having the opportunity to set direction and being the proponent for value creation.
You thrive in driving the long-term aspiration of our global portfolio and want to provide the holistic approach by considering the options and interlinks across our various business areas. Similar, you have preferably experience with health care and life science and understand that customers are at the center of everything that we do and as such, you want to understand the customers and their needs.
Your experience or skillset enables you to learn, evaluate and adapt fast, enabling you to work both independently and with stakeholders possessing complementary skillsets. As a person, you have a curious nature, ability to provide structure and “look ahead” to foresee issues and possibility before they arise. It is natural for you to work and take ownership of a deliverable.
