What You Will Get To Do

By effectively building positive rapport and relationships both internally and externally, the successful candidate will help us achieve our mission that together we deliver services that make a difference in our community.
The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day administration and configuration of a variety of operational systems within the Corporate Security Section. These systems include Electronic Access Control, Intrusion Alarms, Key Control, and Security Cameras.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Working with end-users, Technology & Information Systems staff, vendor representatives, and Facilities Management to gather operational information and configure the appropriate system to deliver the desired functionality.

Conducting regular audits of security systems, and reviewing security camera recordings when required for investigations or Freedom of Information Requests.

Generation of statistical reports as required from these various systems Creating end-user training materials, procedural documentation and provides basic level Information Technology support and guidance to security system operators.

Providing support for security related capital and operational projects including card access installations, camera system installations, and door/lock/key related projects Providing administrative support to the Corporate Security Section including key control documentation and general office administration.
Who You Are
Our Security Section is looking for an aspiring security professional to work with other Town departments and services to enhance security at Town sites. You are a team player with a collaborative approach, focused on the safety, security and well-being of others.
Through your knowledge and skills, you will improve the functionality of existing Town security systems and expand and enhance their use at all Town sites. Your strong administrative skills will improve the documentation of security systems, physical security assets, and key management through regular audits, and projects.
What You Bring To Our Team
2-year College Diploma in the following fields of study are preferred:
- Security/Fire Alarm Technician
- Protection, Security & Investigations
- System/Information Management
- Office Administration
- Project Management
- Successful candidates are required to hold and maintain a valid Province of Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and qualify for the Town’s Safe Driver Program.
- 3 years of experience in a security role would be an asset.

Hourly Rate: $47.78 to $54.29 per hour (Pay Grade 14) up to 24 hours per week
