Position Description:
Horizon Health Network is seeking Family Physicians to establish a new practice or take over (fully or partially) an existing practice in the Miramichi region. Opportunities exist in either solo or group practice, in a fee for service environment.
Family physicians establishing a full-time community based primary care practice in the Miramichi region, provide comprehensive family medicine services to patients and participate in the on-call rotation of the Department of Family Practice at the Miramichi Regional Hospital through one of the call groups.

Job Duties:
- Perform clinical duties including, but not restricted to, seeing and assessing both scheduled and unscheduled patients for routine health and illness care, prescribing treatment, arranging consults, referring to other healthcare professionals as required, and ensuring appropriate follow-up to practice-based patients.
- Teaching responsibilities for family medicine residents, medical students, and other health professionals as appropriate.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address staff and patient needs.
- Participate in any on-call rotas of the Department of Family Medicine, as applicable.
- Within the confines of this scope of practice and position description, provide other duties that may arise by circumstance and may be assigned by the Chief of the Department of Family Medicine, the Chief of Staff, Medical Director and/or Vice President of Medical Affairs.
- Must be eligible for license to practice medicine in the Province of New Brunswick.
- Must be eligible for membership with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
- Must be eligible for malpractice insurance from the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), or equivalent, appropriate to the category of practice.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Good attendance and work record.
- Physically able to perform assigned duties.
Remuneration plans for Family Medicine Physicians are dependent upon location. More detail will be provided throughout the application process.
Incentives:
- $100,000.00 accompanied by a 4-year return of service for eligible physicians, as determined by the Department of Health.
- Moving Expense Allowance reimbursement of up to $8,000 for eligible physicians.

Pay: Up to $350,000.00 per year

- Signing bonus
- French not required
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
- Doctoral Degree (preferred)
- College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (required)
- Medical Degree from a recognized Medical School (required)
