The Opportunity
The Office of the Registrar requires an enthusiastic, innovative and experienced individual to assume the duties of Assistant Registrar (Admissions). This full-time, term position will commence as soon as a suitable applicant has been found. The Assistant Registrar is a senior staff member of the administrative team for the Office of the Registrar and reports to the Registrar. The Assistant Registrar is responsible for supervising and managing the daily operations within the Office of the Registrar related to admissions and support for student recruitment, as well as reporting and data collection where appropriate. The Assistant Registrar works in collaboration with the Office of the Registrar leadership team to promote a student-focused, team-oriented environment within the Office of the Registrar. This term role will end on or before April 1, 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Admissions team
  • Review admissions business processes, flag areas for implementation of automation, and develop office processes related to Admissions that enhance efficiency for services delivered to students within the Office of the Registrar
  • Monitor adherence to set processes
  • Monitoring the annual admissions cycle
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities to ensure all employees are able to respond to the needs of students
  • Representing the Office of the Registrar and contributing to various working teams in support of Student Recruitment, International Education, and SEM.
  • Stay current with processes related to Apply Alberta, Alberta Post-Secondary Application System (APAS), Advanced Education, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), International Qualifications Assessment Services
(IQAS), and other related committees and councils.
  • Stay up to date with admissions and transferability requirements and procedures for all programs including Collaborative Degree programs to ensure correct procedures are followed for collaborative and transferring students.
  • Liaise with ITS regarding online application system (APAS), admissions automation, and Power Campus.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Social Sciences or other related field.
  • Five years' experience in a Registrar's office or Student Services setting, with knowledge regarding all aspects of admissions & registration and application of academic policies & procedures.
