The project:

• We are looking for an experienced Senior Open Edge Developer to join our team and play a key role in enhancing and maintaining our systems during an exciting transition to Open Edge version 12.8. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Open Edge 12 and Progress Application Server for Open Edge (PAS-OE), providing technical expertise in application development, system migrations, and server configurations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain applications built on the Progress Open Edge platform.

• Lead the migration and upgrade process from current Open Edge versions to Open Edge 12.8.

• Configure, deploy, and optimize Progress Application Server for Open Edge (PAS-OE) to enhance system performance and scalability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define solutions, and ensure seamless integration with other systems.

• Perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the quality and stability of the applications.

• Monitor and fine-tune database and application performance.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including migration plans, configuration details, and development guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Fluent English (both written and spoken) is required, as you will be working with an international team.

• Extensive experience with Progress Open Edge, particularly Open Edge 12 (real-world experience required).

• Expertise in Progress Application Server for Open Edge (PAS-OE), including configuration and deployment.

• Strong knowledge of Open Edge ABL/4GL programming.

• Familiarity with database design and optimization in Open Edge environments.

• Experience with system upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.

• Knowledge of integrations using RESTful APIs or SOAP.

• Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting complex Open Edge applications.

About the role:

• Working hours: 40 hours per week.

• Primary location: Remote in Brazil.
