Who are we?
Virya Energy is active in the development, financing, and operation of projects in the field of energy transition. The company, based in Belgium, was founded at the end of 2019 by Colruyt Group and its majority shareholder, Korys.Virya Energy is active across the entire value chain of sustainable energy. This includes the production of green energy in Europe through its subsidiaries Eoly Energy and Eurowatt, in Asia through its subsidiary Sanchore and a majority stake in Constant Energy, and energy distribution through its subsidiary DATS 24. Virya Energy is also involved in the development of sustainable hydrogen projects through Virya H2. The company holds interests in service providers to the offshore industry, including Geo XYZ, Dot Ocean, and Marlinks.
Since October 2023, Virya Energy has also acquired a majority stake in the Belgian company Diodi, which specializes in sustainable agricultural land management.
With over 30 professionals, Virya Energy is rapidly growing its capabilities.
In view of its further expansion, Virya Energy is looking to enlarge its Public Affairs & Sustainability team with a Sustainability Officer.
You will be joining Virya Energy’s Sustainability team.
Your main focus will be on sustainability reporting. Virya Energy is subject to CSRD and EU Taxonomy reporting obligations as from FY2025. The first sustainability report is expected to be published in 2026. Your main responsibilities, in close collaboration with colleagues, will include the following:

Manage Virya's CSRD project: optimising the project plan, keeping track of project progress, escalating delays or blocking factors, building relationships with all consolidated entities with the Virya group (around 10);

Develop, prepare and coordinate compliant sustainability reporting in line with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards;

Collaborate closely with the finance department with regard to the taxonomy reporting process, incl. the analysis of Technical Screening Criteria, and constructing and updating KPI's for the Virya Group.

Manage the CSRD collection processes together with the entities (including EU Taxonomy indicator data);

Review and advise on tooling options or software for sustainability reporting;

Cooperate closely with Virya Energy’s subsidiaries and relevant departments (Finance, HR, HSSE,…) and provide input towards the development and implementation of environmental and social management systems and tools;

Develop and implement environmental and social due diligence processes in line with internationally recognized frameworks such as the United Nations Guiding Principles and OECD Guidelines;

Develop and deliver sustainability briefings and trainings to educate stakeholders and employees on sustainable management practices.

Help identify, monitor and inform on regulatory developments related to sustainability (such as the CSRD, EU Taxonomy, CSDD, etc.);

Support the development and implementation of Virya Energy’s corporate Sustainability strategy.
Your profile
-
You have a master’s degree in business administration, finance, business engineering, or another related field or you have the required equivalent experience.

You have 2-3 years of work experience, preferably with sustainability reporting, project management, consulting or auditing.

You are eager to manage projects and bring them across the finish line: you are comfortable planning, executing and completing projects and are not afraid to address and resolve problems.

You have good knowledge of CSRD and EU Taxonomy legal requirements

You are comfortable working with data and numbers and have a keen interest in collecting and analysing them in the most efficient way.

You have the ability to manage several topics at the same time without losing oversight.

You have good diplomatic and social skills and enjoy building relationships with stakeholders.

You are a team player and possess a high level of integrity.

You are proficient in English, and fluent in Dutch and/or French.

You have a passion for sustainability and its integration in business processes and decision-making.

You have deep interest for the renewable energy sector and its sustainability challenges, being eager to learn about technical aspects.
