• Government Relations & Advocacy:
  Lead efforts to impact public policy, engage with regulators, and advocate for the interests of Outokumpu and the wider industry.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  Build and maintain strategic relationships with policymakers, industry groups, and stakeholders. Actively build and strengthen the organization's reputation while proactively addressing potential political risks.
• Strategic Political Insights:
  Monitor political developments, analyse their implications for the business, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Leadership in Policy Innovation:
  Collaborate across departments to influence policies that reinforce Outokumpu’s leadership in low-emission stainless steel and sustainability initiatives.

• A strategic advisor with 10+ years of experience in driving public affairs initiatives in a European political landscape.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with established networks in EU’s political circles.
• Efficient collaborator with key internal stakeholders in, for example, sustainability, communications, legal, strategy, and communications teams, as well as senior management.
• Ability to spend approximately 50% of their time in Brussels, with frequent travel to our headquarters in Helsinki, and our other locations.
• Proven ability to engage with leadership and influence decision-making in a heavily regulated industry.
• A degree in political science, communication, business, law or a related field. Exceptional proficiency in professional English.
• Considered advantageous: prior experience in the steel or related industries, familiarity with the Finnish political landscape, and proficiency in additional European languages such as French and German.
