Senior Manager, Records Management

Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) manages the financial needs of corporate, institutional and government clients that are based, or have interests in, Australia and New Zealand.
The purpose of the WIB COO is to support the execution of WIB’s business strategy and the development of common capabilities and best practises across WIB focused on governance, reporting, risk management and controls, customer outcomes, transformation (including program execution, digitalisation and data management) to enable the Lines of Businesses to focus on performance and disciplined management of their businesses. The WIB COO also plays a central role to connect and represent the Division to the Group to ensure alignment on strategy, performance, investment, execution and risk oversight.
The Senior Manager, Records Management will report to the Senior Manager – WIB COO, Records & Privacy and will support execution of various records and privacy management initiatives across WIB’s lines of business. This includes development and implementation of records management capabilities, training to staff and providing advice in relation to projects and change initiatives. You will be responsible for the records management and privacy support for WIB lines of business and work collaboratively with key business stakeholders, Business Controls and Monitoring teams, and the broader Records Management and Privacy team. You will be involved
in the development and implementation of records management and privacy capabilities across the WIB lines of business and provide support for records management queries arising from WIB and external divisional projects in accordance with the Records Management Policy requirements. In addition to this you will:
- Develop and maintain records management guidance for WIB lines of business to support the Group Records Management Policy.
- Support identification of business record sets for capture and maintenance in the Group’s information asset register (Records Register Tool).
- Provide regular records management reporting to enable visibility of risk and issues and improvement opportunities across the WIB lines of business.
- Develop, maintain and deliver records management and privacy training and information sessions as required for WIB.
- Participate in working groups and other forums to support the organisation by ensuring requirements are understood and processes and controls are appropriate

What do I need?
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior records management role in a large complex organisation with experience working with and/or defining records management governance frameworks, strategies, policies, guidelines and systems. You will have knowledge of records management standards and legislation with experience working on large scale records management and privacy initiatives. In addition to this you will have:
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and cross-functional teams.
- Good communication and influencing skills required to manage significant relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience applying a risk mindset and commercial acumen.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline.
