About the opportunity:
Position: Public Affairs Officer
Vacancy: Permanent part-time, 40 hours per fortnight
Location: Public Affairs Unit, Townsville University Hospital
As part of the People, Strategy and Governance Directorate, and reporting to the Manager Public Affairs, this role undertakes integral media liaison, proactive external and internal communications, complex events management, and key stakeholder engagement, providing the successful applicant with an opportunity to actively contribute to the positioning of the organisation as a leader and innovator in healthcare in northern Australia.

Generous remuneration package value up to $68,974 p.a. comprising:

• Salary range of $53.24 to $57.92 p.h. (NG5)
• Annual leave with 17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements:

• While not mandatory, a relevant tertiary qualification in journalism, multi-media studies, communications, and/or public relations would be highly regarded.
• Proficiency in Adobe Indesign CS6 or other relevant design suite would be well regarded.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
• Probation period may apply.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted including Criminal History Clearance.
