PEOPLE & CULTURE COORDINATOR

Tenka owns and operates two businesses, Gemba and Turnstile, shaping a better future for sport and entertainment by delivering high-quality Strategy, Insights, and Communications. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic People & Culture Coordinator to join our Melbourne office. You’ll be part of a dynamic and collaborative team in a fast-moving environment. This is a full-time role (5 days a week) with the possibility of a 4-day option, subject to salary expectations. The position requires working from our Melbourne office four days a week.

About the Role
Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will play a vital role in talent acquisition and assist in delivering our People & Culture initiatives. Your primary focus will be on recruitment and onboarding for roles in Australia while also providing support to our London-based P&C Coordinator as required. You’ll also manage aspects of our P&C operations, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for all team members.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the recruitment process in Australia, including candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and onboarding.

  • Providing recruitment support for the London office as required.

  • Coordinating the Vocational Placement Program, acting as the primary point of contact.

  • Managing employee data, documentation, and tracking of key processes such as performance reviews and probation periods.

  • Supporting People & Culture operational tasks, including L&D initiatives and policy updates.

  • Assisting in maintaining compliance with employment laws and HR best practices across regions.


About You
We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will have a strong foundation in HR and the confidence to work autonomously across various tasks.

Key skills and experience include:
  • 2–4 years of experience in a People & Culture or HR Coordinator role.

  • A degree in Human Resources or a related field (preferred).

  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes and familiarity with HR operational tasks.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.

  • An energetic and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced environment.

  • A keen interest in employee engagement, recruitment, and L&D initiatives.

  • Experience using Linked In Recruiter and/or other applicant tracking systems, as well as HRIS systems is preferred.
