Mid/Senior Compositor

Our client is seeking a talented Mid/Senior Compositor to join a small but highly skilled team at a boutique studio in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on photorealistic, high-quality VFX projects in a collaborative and creative environment. The role requires an in-studio presence, ensuring close collaboration with artists, supervisors, and production staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with cleaned plates to create high-quality composites, ensuring seamless integration of CG elements and live-action footage.
- Occasionally handle paint and other tasks as needed—bringing a can-do attitude to support the team’s success.
- Collaborate with the VFX Supervisor and team to ensure the creative vision is achieved.
- Provide creative and technical solutions to compositing challenges.
- Assist and mentor junior compositors, offering guidance on techniques and workflows.
- 3+ years of experience as a compositor in a VFX studio environment.
- Proficiency in Nuke with a strong understanding of 2D and 3D compositing workflows.
- Experience working on photorealistic projects, ideally for film or high-end TV.
- Strong understanding of colour space, grading, and photographic principles.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.
- Experience with Silhouette or other paint/roto tools.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python to enhance workflows.
- Familiarity with Shot Grid or similar production tracking software.
