The Role
The directorate's work includes:
- Dedicated and direct support for the largest ICT Program of work in Australia
- Commercial assurance and advice for procurements and contract management within the ICT Program
- Coordination with Defence projects and other stakeholders to ensure rapid transition to acquisition for capabilities within the ICT Program
- Procurement of ICT support services and other enabling agreements
- Engaging specialist advice from within and outside Defence, including price and cost analysis, probity advice and legal services, as required
About our Team
The Military Commercial Directorate (MCD) delivers high quality procurement, contracting and commercial services and support for the largest ICT Program in Australia. The directorate provides specialist procurement and commercial expertise to develop, deliver and manage procurement and contracting and advises on policy interpretation and its application. The Directorate also manages relationships with key commercial, policy, legal, probity and delivery stakeholders.
Our Ideal Candidate
MCD is seeking skilled, experienced and dedicated commercial, contracting and procurement professionals who enjoy supporting challenging and highly complex commercial activities, and who possess:
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills to interpret, recommend and provide advice on complex commercial issues ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies and procedures
- An ability to understand and apply legal principles, legislation and mandatory policy compliance obligations and critical commercial risk and performance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to deliver procurement related documentation including correspondence, reports, plans, strategies, performance reviews, approaches to market, contracts and contract change proposals, and other commercial documentation
- Flexibility and adaptability and a willingness to lead change initiatives and challenge traditional ways of doing business
- Trustworthiness and integrity at the highest level.
- An ability to grow and lead teams, managing self-improvement and professional development as well as the professional development of your staff
