As a Country Repatriation Nurse Consultant, you'll leverage your clinical expertise to support nursing management, providing guidance on staffing, resource allocation, and process optimization. This multifaceted role demands accountability for driving positive patient outcomes, addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy, and fostering a safe, supportive work culture. From coordinating ward transfers and patient flow initiatives to overseeing transit services and leading improvement projects, you'll play a pivotal role in streamlining operations and elevating the quality of care.
About the role:
Reporting to the SOC Nursing Director, some of your duties as the Nurse Consultant may involve:

Using available information systems: to inform decision making, to implement and co-ordinate processes for quality improvement, to monitor and analyse incidents and accidents, to ensure quality and safety is not compromised, to evaluate outcomes and convey information to staff.
Ensuring mechanisms are in place to support ongoing education where work learning are integrated..
Establishing, implementing and evaluating systems, which ensure best practice/evidence and patient/client outcomes.

About you:

Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
Demonstrated competence in acute nursing practice and delivery.
Demonstrated experience in management and leadership roles.
Demonstrated experience in managing and responding to complex competing demands and problem solving.
Demonstrated experience in complex communication and management delivery.
