Hammond Care Waratah is currently looking for an experienced aged care cook to join our team.
Hammond Care has a unique model of care which places the residents needs as our number one priority.
As a part of the Support Service’s Team, you will support our model of care by delivering high quality meals within our Main Kitchen to our residents in accordance with the Hammondcare’s mission and mission in action statement.
To be successful in this role, you will:

• Experience working in a commercial kitchen setting as a chef or cook - essential
• Experience in preparing and cooking meals within an Aged Care environment will be highly regarded
• Experience in preparing and cooking Australian Cuisine will be highly regarded
• Experience in preparing modified meals or be willing to learn
• Be flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts including weekends
• Understand safe food handling principles & how to create a safe working environment
• Value teamwork but also be able to work independently and show initiative
• Follow all cleaning guidelines & schedules for all equipment & working surfaces
• Demonstrated understanding of safe manual handling and standard precautions.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills
