Computer Network and Systems Engineer

As a Computer Network and Systems Engineer at Racing and Sport, this position plans, develops, deploys, tests and optimises network and system services, taking responsibility for configuration management and overall operational readiness of network systems, especially environments with multiple operating systems and configurations, and provides troubleshooting and fault-finding services for network problems.
Tasks

• Researchers, analyses, plans, and executes projects on designing local networks and systems with Windows servers and Linux Servers.
• Analyse existing IT infrastructure including network devices and integrated software on servers. Obtain network, server hardware and software requirements based on the

analysis. Keeping the document list of possible enhancements for the infrastructure.

• Assess and recommend improvements to network operations and integrated hardware as well as operating systems.
• Deploy windows workstations in domain environment. Configure Active Directory and Group Policy for users and computers.
• Setup network printers and file servers, alongside scheduling backups for client workstations and windows servers.
• Planning, testing and implementation of Azure Active Directory across the organization as well as managing Office 365.
• Installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, and administering new and upgraded networks, software database applications, servers, and workstations.
• Configured Syslog servers and monitoring logs from Firewall and routers.
• Configured load balancing on Firewall to optimise traffic on local network.
• Schedule regular Network backup including Routers, Switches, and other Network devices.
• Provide support for network outages and troubleshooting of network devices, workstations (windows 10 and 11) including windows and linux servers.
• Preparing and maintaining procedures and documentation for network inventory, and recording diagnosis and resolution of network faults
• Deploy, manage, and secure cloud infrastructures on AWS and Azure platforms, and administer Hyper-V servers and virtual machines to ensure optimal performance and

compliance with advanced cybersecurity standards.

• Monitoring network traffic, capacity, and usage to ensure continued integrity and optimal network performance.
• Created, modified, and scheduled batch files to administer and analyze.
• monitor operations of windows and Linux server systems and network.
• Configuring VPN on Firewall and VPN client on end-user devices to enable working remotely.
• Providing specialist skills in supporting and troubleshooting network problems and emergencies.
• Generated weekly reports based on daily firewall logs (application and network) and suggested possible improvements and mitigation.

Essential
Experience with wagering systems and tools, including automated comment or prediction generators, to support betting operations.

• Proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud platforms with expertise in deploying, managing, and securing infrastructures using advanced cybersecurity practices.
• Experience working in data centres. (NEXTDC C1)
• Bachelor's degree in networking (IT) or computing or relevant qualification.
• 3 years of experience in a similar role and similar industry.
• Speaking Tamil & Sinhalese Language would be an advantage as the right candidate will closely work with the Sri Lankan Office team.
• Experience managing large-scale server environments (e.g., 50+ servers, 150+ VMs).
• Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-grade networks using Ubiquiti Uni Fi and Dray Tek platforms.
• This includes configuring multi-VLAN setups, inter-VLAN routing, advanced Qo S policies, SD-WAN integration, and high-availability protocols. Extensive experience with

dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP is also required.
