The Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is seeking a seasoned and Dynamic Lady Medical Officer under GAVI-SNIP Project for District (Thatta & Sajawal) in Sindh Region.
Major Responsibilities:

The Lady Medical Officer accompanied with his/her Line Manager(s) is expected to identify and understand which aspects of his/her work have most impact on the environment, and define tasks, work, and personal goals within his/her work plan to reduce these impacts and bring AKHS closer to net zero.
Major Responsibilities:
- With the support of project team, plan and conduct monthly outreach clinic sessions in far flung and remote areas of UCs to provide immunization and nutrition services including screening of children under 2 years and mothers (especially pregnant women) and provide nutrition supplements
- Assess the medical and health needs of children and mothers at outreach clinics/points and provide basic treatment included in the scope of the project
- Conduct awareness and counselling sessions on healthy nutrition, IYCF practices, family planning, regular ANC and PNC visits, institutional delivery and routine immunization with a focus on the coverage of zero dose, missed and defaulter children during monthly outreach clinics
- Monitor child growth and development during follow up visits
- With the support of LHV, identify high risk and complicated pregnancies and malnourished children (SAM & MAM) and mothers and ensure timely referral from field to the advanced care facilities
- Supervise and support the field team in collecting, compiling, maintaining and reporting high quality immunization and nutrition data from the facility and field to supervisor and central office as necessary
- Conduct supportive supervision and monitoring of immunization and nutrition services at health facilities
- Participate in monthly review meetings and training sessions to improve outreach health services
- Maintain strong collaboration and coordination with all partners including the Do H, WHO/UNICEF, BISP/WFP to ensure the provision of high-quality immunization and nutrition services
- MBBS with valid PMDC license
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience and practical skills especially in MNCH, nutrition and immunization
- Should have a sound understanding and knowledge of Nutrition and MNCH
- Team player with an aptitude of working in a multidisciplinary team
- Organizational and problem-solving skills
- Good time management, communication and team-building skills
- Ability to work under pressure with pressing deadlines
- Should be polite, respectful and courteous to the patients, community and to those who are in authority.
- Ability to speak and understand local languages
