About the Position
We are looking to welcome an Intake and Referral Practitioner to manage referrals into the Intensive Family Support (IFS) program.

• Full time opportunity.
• Position government funded until 31 December 2027 with possible extension.
• Level 4 under the SCHCADS Award. Salary range is $85,127 – $91,588 + Super.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to and process referrals and referral enquiries in a timely, sensitive and effective manner.
• Complete child protection risk assessments and screen information for domestic and family violence risk, consulting with supervisors/specialists as required to manage and respond to risk.
• Identify support needs of families and assess whether they meet the referral criteria of the program.

About You

• A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services).
• At least 2 years’ experience working within a child protection framework.
• The ability to build rapport quickly and respectfully over the phone and in person, with both referred clients and external stakeholders.
• The ability to identify and assess risk of harm, using a child-centred approach.

Other Requirements

• Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Legally able work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
