Reporting to the department manager, this is a Service Response Center position. This position is responsible for processing customer requests by obtaining clear, concise directions and patient information. This position is responsible for the documentation, communication and dispatching of a wide variety of service requests from the customers of the Service Response Center to the staff of the department that the SRC serves. Involved extensive telephone interaction with NEBH staff and visitors. The knowledge and the use of several Windows based computer programs, telephones, radios, paging systems and copy/fax machines to facilitate routine and emergency communication. Collaborates with team members as well as other support service departments.

The general responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to: taking accurate meal orders from patients in a timely manner, providing exceptional customer service, completing administrative reports related to meal orders, assisting in preparation and assembly of patient meal trays, assisting in supervision of patient services staff and any other duties identified by the supervisor or manager.

This position prefers prior Healthcare and/or previous customer service dispatching experience. Staff must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must develop, in a relatively short period of time, a flawless knowledge of the hospital facility and services. Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple, competing tasks. Must be prompt, courteous, and customer service oriented in all interactions with patients, visitors and co-workers. Strong positive customer service skills are essential. Timely and accurate typing skills are a must.
