Position Summary
The Preconstruction Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop project strategies, estimate budgets, and secure subcontractor partnerships. This role optimizes outcomes from the concept design phase through final delivery.
Key Responsibilities Pre-Award Phase:
  • Develop comprehensive execution plans for prospective projects.
  • Conduct site visits during the pre-bid phase to evaluate project scope.
  • Collaborate with engineers and partners to create conceptual designs supporting project proposals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors for cost-effective delivery.
  • Solicit and review subcontractor bids with internal teams to ensure competitive estimates.
  • Partner with estimators, proposal managers, scheduling teams, and senior leadership to deliver compelling project proposals.
Post-Award Phase:
  • Lead contract negotiations, focusing on scope, technical specifications, and project details.
  • Review and provide feedback on design drawings to enhance project efficiency.
  • Manage the subcontracting process, including vendor selection, issuing RFPs, and contract negotiations.
  • Oversee the transition from preconstruction to project management teams.
  • Monitor adherence to critical path schedules and maintain open communication with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related fields.
  • Experience: 5+ years in project management, procurement, EPC, or project development.
  • Expertise in contract negotiations and subcontracting processes.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, including scheduling, procurement, manpower planning, and subcontractor management.
  • Demonstrated leadership, quantitative, and analytical skills.
Preferred:
  • Proven expertise in estimating and project budgeting.
  • Experience in EPC project management and subcontractor coordination.
  • Familiarity with critical path scheduling and managing complex project timelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
