Senior Penetration Tester / Red Team

RESPONSIBILITIES
REQUIREMENTS
The position involves joining a highly skilled Red Team/Penetration Testing group responsible for ensuring the security of applications, systems, networks, and platforms within Gen. The project encompasses performing comprehensive penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and security evaluations across various domains, including network, mobile, and business applications, as well as performing source code reviews and threat analysis. The role aligns closely with regulatory compliance standards such as FTC and PCI, and leverages cutting-edge testing methodologies, including AI-driven systems and wireless network assessments. The candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, technical teams, and executives to communicate findings and remediation strategies. They will also help develop the tools and methodologies necessary to enhance the penetration testing process.

Conduct network, web, mobile, and business application penetration tests, as well as source code reviews and threat analysis.

Lead and execute penetration tests aligned with regulatory standards, focusing on FTC and PCI compliance.

Perform wireless network assessments, AI-driven system testing, and physical security assessments.

Create detailed reports and presentations tailored for both technical and executive audiences.

Communicate security findings and remediation strategies to technical teams, executive leadership, and legal counsel.

Utilize attacker tools, tactics, and procedures (TTPs) in a safe and controlled environment.

Develop custom scripts, tools, and methodologies to improve red teaming and penetration testing processes.

5+ years of experience in penetration testing or a related security field.

Expertise in network penetration testing and network infrastructure manipulation.

Web, mobile, or desktop application assessments.

Proficiency with tools like Burp Suite, Checkmarx, Snyk, Wireshark, Fiddler, and Wiz.

Experience with regulatory penetration testing, focusing on FTC and PCI compliance.

Familiarity with Kali Linux.

Strong understanding of operating systems and network protocols.
-
Knowledge of source code reviews for control flow and security vulnerabilities.

Ethical approach to security and business operations.

Fluency in English (B2 level or higher).
-
A passion for continuously learning new attack techniques and tools.
-
Social engineering (email, phone, or physical).
-
Automation or scripting using Perl, Python, Ruby, or similar languages.

Exploit development or modifying shellcode and existing exploit tools.

Application development in C#, ASP.NET Core | Open-source web framework for .NET, Objective C, or Java (J2EE).

Reverse engineering, malware analysis, or cryptographic systems.

Experience with wireless, web application, mobile, and network security testing tools.

Familiarity with ICS/SCADA, BACnet protocols, and covert communication channels.

Basic knowledge of AI and machine learning security, including adversarial attacks and model poisoning.

Proficiency in scripting for Unix/Linux/Mac/Windows systems using Bash or Power Shell.

Experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure security controls.

Knowledge of security principles such as defense-in-depth and security architectures.

Experience mentoring junior team members.

Industry certifications like OSCP, OSWP, GPEN, GWAPT, OSCE, OSEE, GXPN, CEH, or equivalent.
