The Department of Sociology at National Chengchi University (NCCU) in Taipei, Taiwan (http://www.nccu.edu.tw/en/about) seeks applications for a Tenure-Track position at all ranks from August 1, 2025. The Department offers undergraduate, master and Ph.D degrees. The major tasks of a full-time faculty member include research, teaching and academic service. A strong command of oral and written skills in both Mandarin and English is required.

NCCU is one of the leading public research universities in Taiwan. It has strong programs in diverse fields including social sciences, humanities, law, sciences, science, languages and literature, communication, international affairs, and education. It offers a highly internationalized environment in which most faculty members have oversea experiences and connections. Its location, Taipei, has been consistently ranked as one of the most livable cities in Asia.

The Department welcomes candidates from all subfields of sociology and other related disciplines. We especially welcome candidates with strong interdisciplinary research experiences. The candidate must hold a Ph D at the time of appointment. Applicants should send the following documents in PDF format:

If ABD(All But Dissertation), candidates will be required to complete the doctoral degree by June 30, 2025, and provide a letter from the dissertation advisor or program administrators certifying that all degree requirements will be met by that deadline, (6) transcript for the Ph.D. program, (7) Ph D dissertation (8) Photocopy of teacher’s certificate issued by the Ministry of Education, R.O.C, if available. Items (5)-(7) are required for applicants without full-time teaching experiences in Taiwan. Foreign academic credentials and related certifications should be authenticated by Embassies & Missions abroad of Republic of China (Taiwan).
