Position summary
Located in the centre of Zug, Switzerland, our company is focused on the trading of raw materials (mainly coal). To complete our team, we are looking for a Trade Finance / Treasury Officer, who would manage the daily operations of commodity trading, ensuring efficient and smooth transactions. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to optimize financial structures, manage liquidity and mitigate relevant risks.
Your main responsibilities:
Trade Finance functions

• Manage and execute trade finance transactions, including Letters of Credit and collateral management.
• Build and maintain relationships with banks and other relevant financial institutions.
• Monitor client portfolios, ensuring compliance with financial agreements.
• Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on transaction-related issues.
• Provide financial advice to support trading operations.

Treasury functions

• Daily operations, such as invoice payment processing and follow-up, bank reconciliation, registration in the ERP system, etc.
• Oversee cash flow management to ensure sufficient liquidity for trading activities.
• Assist to Head of Treasury in developing and implementation of strategies for effective working capital management.
• Prepare treasury reports and forecasts to support decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with the finance team to manage interest rate risks and optimize funding strategies.
• Managing risks related to credit, market conditions & regulations.

What makes you successful:

• Academic degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in trade finance within the commodities sector.
• Strong knowledge of trade finance products, hedging techniques, and treasury operations..
• Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid working permit.
• English: fluent (written and spoken). The knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• Other Skills:

o Good team spirit, and a great ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
o Analytical mindset with stress resistance and strong attention to detail.
o Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and multitask.
o IT skills: proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of ERP system Business Central (NAV) is a plus.
