Lead developer / CTO

The application already exists - there is a preexisting codebase built using React Redux and Django. This software requires updating, maintaining and in some areas modernising. In the case of the frontend, experience with Typescript is required to oversee the refactoring of the codebase from Javascript into Typescript. In the case of the backend, experience with Django and Postgre SQL is required to resolve issues relating to database migrations.
Above all the role requires tech leadership - the management of developmental processes and the proactive handling of a wide variety of tech challenges.
Some of the these include:
- Assessing and resolving issues with the existing codebase, specifically in the backend.
- Maintaining high standards of data security, since the application concerns personal insurance data.
- Managing deployments and Devops infrastructure (Docker, AWS, CI/CD).
- Clearly communicating, planning and designing the product’s development using tools like Jira and MS Teams in response to current and future demands.
- Tech leadership - Experience managing other developers and handling a wide variety of responsibilities.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure and managing deployments and pipelines.
