Make an Impact by:

• Lead and supervise the Broadcast Tech Ops team, ensuring that all technical operations run smoothly.
• The Broadcast Tech Ops team provides support for the Singtel TV broadcast systems for Singtel TV, TV Go, CAST, Singtel Business TV, Optus Sports and cross – carriage services.
• Manages and supports three broadcast data centres onsite/remotely.
• Service and system performance monitoring – proactive and predictive.
• Service recovery of live services – headend, ingest and playout.
• Event management – Major events (EPL, FIFAWC, EURO, national significant broadcast event).
• Ops excellence – IT Disaster Recovery Plan exercise, IMDA regulatory compliance, and Security audit compliance.
• Managing live content/sports event acquisition via satellite, fibre and IP delivery.
• Work closely with the project, operations, and external parties in overseeing technical aspects of projects and system issue resolution.
• Planning and implementing system upgrades to keep the broadcasting technology up to date. Perform system administration tasks such as system hardening, patch installation and inventory.
• Provide training and guidance to the Tech Ops team to enhance their skills and keep them updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Maintaining records and documentation related to equipment, maintenance, and technical procedures.
• Developing and implementing disaster recovery and emergency response plans to ensure minimal downtime in case of technical failures.
• To always work safely, complying with Singtel workplace safety and health policies.

Skills for Success:

• Degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering.
• 5 years’ experience in the broadcasting/media industry. Preferably working as Support Engineer/Team Lead/Supervisor.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in ingest and playout/media asset management system.
• Satellite downlink and uplink operations.
• Operation and maintenance of various SDI and IP - based broadcast systems (e.g. audio/video processors; audio/video broadcast monitor; graphics; subtitling; video routers; video transcoding; and video compression/transport)
• Server, workstation and network troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Experience in networking preferably CCNA certified.
• Experience in cloud – based broadcast system is an advantage.
• Has strong problem-solving abilities to quickly identify and address technical issues.
• To ensure 24/7 availability of the Tech Ops team, to cover shift when required.
• Must have leadership and supervisory skills to manage a team of Engineers effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments and external parties.
• Has the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends in broadcasting.
